D.I.Y. Rock Star Rewind: Dreams about dogs… 🦴 (July 2021)

The truth is…

I have been having dreams about dogs lately. I hate to be the one to break it to you, but I am NOT a fan of dogs. I actually prefer cats. But since I am SEVERELY allergic to them, we remain pet-less. ….But these were NOT dreams about pet ownership.

What’s the problem?

I have analyzed what I THINK they’re about and have come to the conclusion that they’re about the unpredictable change that is about to happen in our lives. Here’s just a short list of things that I MIGHT be freaking out about.

Where should I start?

The pandemic looks like it’s FINALLY coming to an end, so that means that not ONLY is the world opening back up, but along with that, we can start traveling again and going to music conferences again. —While I feel like we know more now than we did last time we went to a conference, ACTUALLY going is the true test! —This second change is that we KINDA can ditch the masks. —Yay for that! —Next, we will finally start wearing “real clothes” and trying NOT to pop buttons with our post-pandemic weight gain. 😳 —AND try to look fabulous again. Regularly. —Finally, not to mention the shit that’s happening at my day job….🙄 There’s no WONDER that vicious dogs are chasing me in my dreams! 🤷🏽‍♀️

After being shut away…

However, on the OTHER side of all that, we have grown stronger in our purpose, clearer in our business partnership, and more confident in our networking ability. We KNOW that we tried to take advantage of the time shut away to retool some of infrastructure [refreshed our website (https://bit.ly/prejippiemusichq ) branded more of our social media profiles (https://bit.ly/sugarfitspotify ); and continued to create content to help other similarly situated artists to cope (http://bit.ly/coronaplaylistvids )]. But we KNOW we had some times where we just vegged out in front of the tv with a tub of popcorn for evenings on end….

But I might miss….

—And as much as I complained about how “busy” the house was ALL THE TIME, I MIGHT actually miss having all of us available to each other, working from home. I am going to miss the talks with our grown children and the midday walks with Bruce. AND even the idea that we didn’t have to BE anywhere but where.

There’s a certain comfort to that. It will be gone soon.

That’s what I think.

—I think that’s what these dreams are about. But it’s okay, because we realize that life is about constant change and this just represents another of those changes. The only difference with this one is that the ENTIRE world will be experiencing it all at relatively the same time. 😳
