318. D.I.Y. Rock Star Goals for 2024
We find that the coming of a new year marks a GREAT time to assess our goals and to decide what we’d like to focus on, what we can tick off the list, and what we can add.

We know that folks think it’s corny to set goals for the new year, but we think it’s a great time to re-assess. Taking into account the progress that you’ve made, looking at the list of goals that you had last year and deciding which of those goals are STILL making you want to get out of bed to accomplish them and/or adding NEW priorities into your list.
Here are my goals in no particular order: ⭐️
Keeping the list short is my way of staying focused and not becoming overwhelmed by seeing too much [which is what I think happened back in 2019–when we did the 19 Goals for 2019 🙄💁🏾 (https://bit.ly/19for2019vid )].
1. Continued commitment
A year ago, I vowed to stay consistent with our weekly episodes of Gab & Jam, promoting content on the YouTube channel, and publishing weekly posts on the blog. Not only have we been able to keep up with this goal for last year, but we plan to continue that same pace THIS coming year. –In fact, we’re happy to be ready to celebrate 600th video soon. 🥳 (We’ll have to figure out what fun we can have with sharing our joy, so stay tuned for that.)

2. Promote book
Not only are we planning to promote our book, Be the NEXT D.I.Y. Rock Star Handbook, but I also want to make more books (including a D.I.Y. Rock Star planner). 3. Improve in some key areas
As you MIGHT know, I am retiring from day job in 5 years, so it’s my goal to learn to sell better to help pave the way for our NEXT phase, so my email marketing and online sales skills NEED to level up. Therefore, learning how to be more effective AND efficient AND regular with our sales and email activities are CRITICAL. 💁🏾 So, THOSE are my foci for these next few years—up to and INCLUDING creating a separate YouTube channel that is “functional,” but that I think could be MAJOR for future earning potential. In order to be more effective in my impact, I KNOW I need to learn, practice, assess, and repeat as often as possible, so that I can see some of our bigger vision come to fruition.

4. Create community on Groover
As you PROBABLY already know, Groover has been our new JAM! —If you aren’t familiar with how we got on 18 playlists in one week, check out THIS post. — Anyway, we see no signs for stopping the monthly—or 6 week—release schedule. We want to keep the folks that like us with new material to love, so we’re planning to create an email update for them. So, THAT’S near the top of our new year’s goals right now.

5. Spend time with loved ones
Even though our kids are grown, they still live at home, so we are cherishing this time with them. When our son wants to watch football, I try to squeeze in on the couch to enjoy it with him and when my daughter wants to go thrifting, I make a special point to go with her, because I don’t want to “miss the moment.” We know that soon will move on out and into their adult lives, so every extra moment of watching them grow into full-fledged adulthood.

Finally…
Of course, we have other goals—like maintaining our physical health and expanding our creative skills—but since these are ALWAYS on our radar. Instead of presenting an exhaustive list, we wanted to pinpoint the items that we are planning to focus on in 2024.
