Goals for 2023

This post loosely accompanies 272. Goals for 2023

We’ve done this every year since 2019 and, like last year, we’ve decided to keep it simple. Here are the few things we plan to focus on in 2023.

Vox’s Goals:

1. Stay creative

We have started gathering our ideas for the new album, wrote some lyrics (while watching our yearly Harry Potter holiday marathon), and we took a new set of band photos, so I would say that we’re living up to that goal already. However, I plan to do more.

How to stay motivated to do ALL the things:

2. Finish the book

The last time I worked on it was in the summer—when I realized that it had some holes in it that we needed to write episodes/blog posts around. So, since then, we have created those episodes, so I am ready to fold that material into the book. It seems like it MIGHT just be a few hours from being done, so I am DEFINITELY going to make it a priority to go in and get it ready to ship to those folks that pre-ordered it.

3. Nurture the new Patreon

Speaking of inspiration, another unexpected win that we had was that we were motivated to put one of our lesser-known Christmas songs as a premium items on our Patreon. After a bit of cleaning up and set up, we FINALLY have a working, relevant Patreon! Yay!

Travel adventures playlist:

4. Enjoy traveling

We are looking forward to engaging in international travel again. –Before the pandemic, we were choosing at least one international location a year to visit. –Now, we are finally seeing friends and family traveling abroad—and without restrictions—so we are hoping to renew our plans for our Spain and Italy trip that we re-scheduled from 2020.

Chicago Travel Blog:

5. Continue to be mindful and take of myself

(so that I can take better care of those around me) (Health + Wellness post: )

I have begun to do better at minding the ebb and flow of my energy, so that I can maintain all of the ventures we have going and so that I can take good care of those who depend on me. By following my intuition more, and shutting down when needed, so that I can glow and flow when it’s time to be ON!

Bruce’s Goal:

1. Run the entire marathon

(marathon-related vid: )

Bruce’s one and only goal this year is to finish the full marathon running. That is THE focus this year. He will properly train—which is something that he underestimated in previous years. He is going to begin running the same amount of mileage leading up to the marathon, so that his body is conditioned for completing the marathon at that faster pace. –In previous years, he has trained, so that he could run about two-thirds the way through, which means that he has walked the rest of the way to cross the finish line. This time, he wants to run the ENTIRE way.

Well, those are the goals we are working toward this year. Let us know if you have questions about any of these.

What about you?
