Rock Star Rewind: Covid Re-awakening… (June 2020)

Flashback to Move Forward (February 2020) --Blooming Prejippie

Finally "back"...

I think I am finally “back.” I couldn’t get off the couch for a couple of days, but I finally got the urge to walk and write. I had been trying to work on my message for the newsletter, when it hit me like a ton of bricks that coming out of this Coronavirus thing will be some touchy shit. Though things are finally coming back to life, what does it mean for the life that we will be going back to? I mean, what about live concerts and Vegas buffets and the possible closing down of many of the places that hosted live music? And music conferences? My mind started to spin, but then I returned to my vision board (http://bit.ly/rockstarvision ) and to my gratefulness journaling for support. Even so, when I went to put virtual pen to paper, I realized that it wasn’t easy to find something “encouraging” to say and that instead, we should offer you this:

Message...

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” Got that one from an Instagram coach, but she’s right. But it’s been incredibly hard NOT to want things NOT to change, but the fact of the matter is that it will, whether I like it or not, but if I—and when I say “I” we mean you too—if I put my attention on what good I can do and remember that us creatives—especially us D.I.Y. Rock Stars— are scrappy and edgy and we will tease our the opportunity even in the midst of the adversity. While I am usually good at remembering this, I will admit that it took a stranger to remind me to stay positive and forward-looking.

Remainders of the Day?

So THAT continues to be our message for you—in the midst of our own re-awakening. We’ve said it before, but you can’t control what you can’t control……. But—BIG BUT—be sure you continue to do what you can to make your small world a little better, because you radiate out and affect others’ worlds. For us that has meant continuing to create content, write music, and pitch our songs for placements. We also have some money to charity, because we know that this is a devastating event for many. Remember, do what you can.

One more month of social distancing, y’all. We got our plans (http://bit.ly/diycoronavirusplay ), we can do it; we got this! 🙌🏾
