Heading into Our New Season…

—I was proud of us for stepping out there and trying someone and something new, and even prouder that we are supporting a local up and coming photographer. (Thanks @cha2times !)

—I think I am starting to feel myself in this new role as a leader in our industry and not as much as an interloper as I once felt. I mean, we are walking the talk, while so many other people talk about what works and what doesn’t—to make strides in this Wild West that is the music biz—we are actually testing and applying action to ideas.

What Happened?

—Having said that, we are extremely happy to see that seeds we planted three years ago bloomed into something lovely—see our Sweetwater Sound’s InSync Customer Studio Spotlight. However, even with all your support, our proposal for South By Southwest—"5 Secret Weapons Of The D.I.Y. Rock Star: How to Kill It in the New Music Biz ( http://bit.ly/PickPanelSXSW ) —did not make the stage this year. What this has reminded us, though, is that it’s all the moves we’re making that has made the difference for us up to now and that, going forward, it will be no different. After all, the reason we have started ANY of this is because we wanted to get our musical art/image/creativity out to people who might enjoy it. Opportunities seemed far and few through other people, but we still want to share, so that means that we’ll keep sharing (as we always have).

In fact, now that the delicious distraction of a South By Southwest Panel is behind us for this year, the more we can re-target our focus to getting back on our blogging/vlogging/podcasting rhythm and schedule. A surprising favorite of you all has been this one:

What Now?

After re-jiggering our goals and expectations for November, we have decided to clear the decks, so that we can do a better job with Blog-vember 2019. –As you might remember, last year, we achieved 83% of our posting goals were met (with the blog posts lagging behind the videos and podcast episodes). While this was head and shoulders better than the year before, it was plan to meet that MF-er of a goal! –Our plan is the have a stronger plan in place to meet the challenge of 3 posts a day, so that we can end the month, we can get ALL 90 posts will be live. We are older and wiser than last year, so we think we can do it. And we’ve gotten one good day—today—under our belts. We got this. Don’t forget to follow along, if you need tips to help move your D.I.Y. Rock Star lifestyle/empire in the right direction.

As always, we are thrilled to have you with us. We celebrated hitting 300 members in our Funky Happy People Facebook group, we celebrated 3,000 subscribers on YouTube, and almost 8k downloads for our Gab & Jam podcast. We couldn’t be happier. What’s better is knowing that you’re along for the ride.
