Spillin’ Tea: Happy First Blog-Versary to Us!

Wow! It’s finally here! Our blog officially turned one-year old!

Proudest Moments of This Past Month:

*As I mentioned in the last newsletter, my personal gift to our blog was a Vision Board (which I completed 2 weeks ago). What better time to look forward and decide what is MOST important to us now? We’re proud of that.

*We’ve also been faithful with our new commitment to uploading a new video every Monday for what we are terming our “Monday Mojo” offering. There have been times when getting it done has been challenging, but since we gave our word to ourselves (and to our virtual friends, followers, and viewers), we knew we had to follow-through. We’re proud of that.

*We finally achieved those pesky YouTube goals—1,000 subscribers and 4,000 viewing hours for the year. That was a challenge, given where we were when the challenge was issued (at the beginning of January). (More about that here.) We’re extremely proud of that.

Here's our Rockstar Rewind (last month in review).

Vision Board Realities:

*

Now that we can mark a big, hearty check in all those columns, we know that it is time to shift our immediate—and long-term—goals. We are turning, slightly, to renewing our commitment to those goals we envisioned for ourselves (in 1986-ish). We will not bore you with tales from the 80s, but we will say that our plans were grand; hence the newly-anointed vision board that will help steer our ship to our destination. Part of steering our ship (of sorts) in the right direction is to realize that it is time to be faithful to those dreams and plans we envisioned when we first started on our quest together.

*

While being communal has always been a challenge for us, our newly improved trajectory requires that we branch out into a world outside of ourselves. Also, we are more curious now and want to see what kinds of nifty, creative things folks are up to out here. To that end, we are starting to meander about the countryside, attending poetry readings (--I swear the post is imminent.), concerts, we’ve joined a side-piece funk band (Eastside Funk), and are involved with our alum university's creative arts organization (Maize Collective--here's more on this).

We attended an inspiring Maize Collective event.

As you tell, we like to stay busy. While being busy doing that work that makes our heart sing we are sure is the right path…

Stay tuned for even more from us as we learn and grow and share with you.

What metaphorical path has you proud at how you navigated the terrain? Please share! We would love to hear about your journey.

Until next we meet, here's wishing you love, peace, and chicken grease!

I hate to remind you, but no one gets out alive, so you may as well subscribe! (Oh, and live a joyous and full life in the meantime....)
